Desiccant Rotor & Cassette AIRDRY AD RC 20/40
The AIRDRY AD RC series silica gel rotor and cassette sets, manufactured by TFT (Tecnofrigo Tuscany, Italy), are designed to integrate into existing air handling units, duct systems, or as standalone components for industrial dehumidification applications. Available in stainless steel and galvanised steel housing options with 200 mm and 400 mm rotor depths.

Rotor & Cassette Components
High-efficiency desiccant rotor coated with silica gel adsorbent. Low air pressure drop, long service life and consistent adsorption capacity. Water vapour is adsorbed as humid air passes through the rotor.
Metallic frame structure housing the rotor. Available in AISI 304 stainless steel, galvanised steel or painted steel. Equipped with radial and circumference seals to prevent air leakage.
Self-tensioning drive system with gearmotor, pulley and V-belt. Rotates the rotor at a pre-determined speed to provide continuous adsorption-regeneration cycling.
Radial seals (on both sides of the regeneration sector) and circumference seals (around the rotor perimeter). High-temperature resistant, low-friction rubber material. Separates process and regeneration airstreams.
Adsorption Process
Process air passing through the cassette is stripped of moisture by the silica gel in the desiccant rotor. Simultaneously, heated reactivation air drives moisture from the desiccant media and exhausts it to an ambient location. The drive system rotates the rotor at a pre-determined speed for a continuous process. Seals ensure the dried process air and moisture-laden reactivation air remain separated.

Humid air passes through the silica gel rotor in the cassette. The rotor adsorbs water vapour from the air.
Heated air (120–140°C) passes through the rotor in the opposite direction, stripping adsorbed moisture and exhausting it outside.
The rotor slowly rotates between adsorption and regeneration zones, providing uninterrupted dehumidification.
Standard ratio: 75% process air flow and 25% reactivation air flow. Two airstreams flow in counter-flow directions.
Materials & Features
AISI 304 stainless steel, galvanised steel or painted steel options. Cassette dimensions are determined by rotor diameter.
200 mm (RC 20) and 400 mm (RC 40) rotor depth options. Deeper rotor provides higher adsorption capacity.
Fitted on both sides of the 90° regeneration sector. High-temperature resistant, low-friction rubber material.
Fitted on both sides of the rotor perimeter. Secured with double-sided adhesive tape on the rotor rim, reinforced with hose clamp.
Gearmotor and V-belt drive system. Correct motor rotation direction is essential; the rotor must turn upwards.
For large rotors (Ø > 1.6 m): rim segments, rotor sectors, spokes, hub plate and rim joint components.
Installation Options
Integrated installation within an existing customer-supplied air handler. The most common application method.
Installation within a ducted system or machinery room.
Use as a standalone component with proper exterior covers, insulation and weatherproofing.
Rotor Depth & Cassette Material Options
Each rotor diameter is available with two cassette material options. Models from Ø550 to Ø2190 are offered in both RC 20 (200 mm) and RC 40 (400 mm) depths as standard, while models Ø2450 and above are standard with RC 20 (200 mm) and available with RC 40 (400 mm) on a project-specific basis.
Standard depth. Suitable for low-to-medium capacity applications and compact installation requirements.
Deep rotor. For applications requiring high adsorption capacity; provides greater moisture retention and lower dew points.
For pharmaceutical, food and chemical industry applications requiring corrosion resistance and high hygiene standards.
Cost-effective and durable solution for general industrial applications, warehouses and manufacturing facilities.
Rotor Diameters & Cassette Dimensions
* All dimensions in millimetres (mm). Models Ø550–Ø2190 are available with RC 20 and RC 40 options; models Ø2450 and above are standard with RC 20, RC 40 available as project specific. All models are offered in AISI 304 stainless steel and galvanised steel cassette options.
